Through the Sonoran, we stopped for roadside tacos at some makeshift stand where the girl made ceviche with lemon, lime, mint and pineapple.  I was looking out into the desert, thinking about the Yucatan Peninsula.  There was cloud across the dimming sky and when the breeze shifted I could smell the junipers and pine in the foothills.  It reminded me of the Amalfi coast.  She poured us a shot of smoky, desert sotol and our spirits lifted before we got back on the road.  When we got to El Cuyo is was early still.  I cut some tropical fruit and my compadre crushed wild herbs for cocktails.  The night came alive with the sounds of the jungle and we drank until sunrise.
