Black Yucatán

Marsten & Marwood is the curious collection of peculiar fragrances handmade by Barnaby Black. Formulated with natural aromatics, raw botanicals, and fine fragrance materials, each scent is a small study in place, memory, and atmosphere.

Black Yucatán begins at a roadside table in the Sonoran Desert: ceviche bright with lemon, lime, mint, and pineapple, wild herbs crushed for cocktails, and a shot of smoky desert sotol before the road turns south toward the Yucatán.

The Scent

Citrus and green herbs lift the opening, then give way to juniper, basil, neroli, and tropical flower. Beneath it all, Javan vetiver, ponderosa pine, and desert sotol keep the composition dry, resinous, and sunlit.

Fragrance Structure

• Top: verbena, mandarin, lemongrass, petitgrain, and sweet wild fennel
• Heart: water mint, clary sage, basil, neroli, ylang ylang, and green juniper
• Base: Javan vetiver, ponderosa pine, desert sotol, and fenugreek

• Parfum extrait compounded at 45%
• Organic grain alcohol, live plant and tree infusions, steam-distilled essential oils, compounds, absolutes, and other fine botanical concentrates
